Most of us love drinking coffee. We love it so much, we've stopped paying attention to the daily doses of caffeine we take into our organisms. And high doses of caffeine can cause us some serious damage.
Simon Crowe, a professor at La Trobe University in Melbourne, participated in a study about the effects of drinking too much coffee. Instead of monitoring the usual problems caffeine provokes, like high blood pressure and even heart problems, the study showed that too much coffee caused hallucinations. 92 participants proved that after 5 cups of coffee the human hearing was the one to suffer. The participants were asked to listen to white noise – a constant fuzzy sound. What they thought they heard, were parts of the song White Christmas. However, no parts of the song were featured in the white noise. The results proved that stress and too much coffee can cause hallucinations.
