1. Rise to Power:
Hitler attempted to oust the German government with a coup. The conspiracy failed and Hitler was jailed for five years on the charges of treason. However, he was released only after nine months and then organized the Nazi party to take over German government through democratic way. In 1933, Hitler became Chancellor of Germany and subsequently the country fell into the chaos of World War II.
2. Anti-Semite:
Hitler hated Jews. He described himself as Anti-Semite in his book “Mein Kampf” in which he confessed his ill feelings towards Jews. The Holocaust is a historical episode which shows his animosity towards Jewish people. It was an organized event to wipe out Jews from the map of Germany and the world. Hitler is directly responsible for the murder of more than six million Jews due to the Holocaust.
3. Operation Valkyrie:
Hitler had been really lucky to survive forty two verified attacks on his life. Hitler survived the most fatal attack of a few senior Army officers. The covert plan was known as “Operation Valkyrie”. It was a brainchild of a segment of army officers who wanted to kill Hitler and overthrow Nazi government.
They conspired to assassinate him and take over the control of Berlin with help from the Reserve Army. “Operation Valkyrie” was carried out on 20 July, 1944 in which Adolf Hitler sustained severe bruises on his leg. On the night of the same day, Hitler ordered a military trial for all conspirators, who were later executed in the early morning of 21 July, 1944.
4. Artist:
Hitler was an ambitious painter. In fact, he even applied to the Academy of Fine Arts but was rejected due to lack of skills. However, he earned a living from his paintings during his life in Vienna. His life in Vienna was instrumental in developing his skills in painting which he continued to do after the demise of his mother in 1908.
5. Hitler’s Bizarre Love With Jewish Girl:
Hitler had a crush on a girl called “Stephanie Isak” who had Jewish origins. He fell in love with her during his school days in Linz. He used to translate his feelings into poetry which he wrote. However, he could never express his love beyond the poetic words. Stephanie Isak said in an interview that she was not aware of Hitler’s love for her.
6. Vegetarian:
Adolf Hitler was a strict follower of vegetable regimen. For someone who is epitomized as a killer, it is strange to understand his love for animals. He neither drank alcohol nor smoke cigarettes. In fact, he encouraged his associates to emulate a healthy lifestyle and rewarded those who quit a bad habit.
7. Marriage:
Hitler married only once in his life. He married his long-time mistress Eva Braun on 30 April, 1945. The ceremony was carried out in a Berlin bunker where Adolf Hitler was hiding to avoid the Red Army. Soon after the ceremony, both Hitler and Eva committed suicide with cyanide pills.
